Emma Kaye (‘Kemma’) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer from Sydney, Australia. Her distinct style is a celebration of colour and slow living with each creation designed to bring magic into the everyday experience.

Dreamt up in 2021, Kemma elevates everyday objects by creating pieces that foster deeper connections to yourself and your world. Inspired by feelings of joy, playfulness, nostalgia and beauty, her work highlights the limitless potential of design through self-taught techniques, resulting in products that are truly made with love. Other inspirations include the Australian coastal landscape, summer fruits, fresh flowers. Core values of love, storytelling, community and sustainability are at the forefront of her process.

Kemma is more than just a ceramics brand. Kemma products represent reconnecting to yourself through the simple joy of the everyday. A moment to slow down and reflect over a cup of tea, or an opportunity to treasure the simple joys of living through that first sip of coffee in the morning out of your favourite mug.

Beginning her career specialising in oil painting on canvas, Kemma moved into ceramics design after being motivated to create art that fulfilled a functional purpose, creating objects that add meaning and introduce beauty into otherwise mundane daily rituals.

Kemma ceramics are handcrafted in Sydney, Australia, passing through hands in a process that takes weeks for any given product to be completed. This includes ceramic formation through hand building and wheel throwing techniques, hand painting and glazing. As such, no two objects are the same, each maintaining unique quirks and distinct characteristics.

Kemma documents her creative processes through digital media in order to tell the deeper story of how her products came to be.

Kemma acknowledges the Gadigal peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Eora Nation on which we create our products. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.
